Clinical field

Overview
It is just in this field where reliability, speed and high-throughput capabilities of novel technologies are most appreciated. Consequently, the possibility to develop point-of-care (POC) diagnostic devices to assist doctors in diagnosis without the need to submit the sample to a central laboratory is one of the main challenges. On the other hand for routine purposes, the possibility to have automated devices capable of identifying the target analyte with minimum sample preparation, due to the use of specific receptors incorporated on a electronic device, could significantly increase the efficiency of the clinical laboratories and indeed provide appropriate therapies in due time.
