Specific receptors

Overview
Investigation regarding production of specific bioreceptors with tailored features is essential, since these biomolecules are responsible for the specific signal obtained in the diagnostic tools developed. Therefore, availability of specific receptors is crucial for the general objective of the research at the Nb4D. For this purpose a deep knowledge of the properties of the target are required. Nowadays molecular modeling tools and theoretical calculations are employed to assist in the design of the most appropriate immunogen. This is particularly useful when non-immunogenic small organic molecules constitute the analytical objective. In such cases, an appropriate design of the chemical structure of the hapten is crucial to accomplish the desired antibody features.

Features
Organic synthesis, molecular modeling tools, theoretical calculations and/or monoclonal antibody screening are between the strategies used to accomplish this aim.
