The PhotoHeart project is one of those selected in the CaixaResearch call, and will be funded with one million euros to develop a photopharmacological therapy that helps reduce heart damage after suffering a myocardial infarction. The project is led by Dr. Amadeu Llebaria, from the Medicinal Chemistry and Synthesis group (MCS), accredited with the TECNIO seal, and will be developed in a consortium with La Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca and The Hopkins University (United States).

PhotoHeart has been one of the 30 projects selected in the CaixaResearch call for Health Research 2021, of the “la Caixa” Foundation. These are biomedical and health research projects of excellence of research centers and universities in Spain and Portugal, which have been endowed with a total of 22.1 million euros to be developed over the next three years.
