Smart4Fabry is a collaborative project funded under the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/programmes\/horizon2020\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>H2020 EU Research and Innovation programme<\/strong><\/a>. This project is coordinated by Dr. <strong>Nora Ventosa<\/strong>, from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icmab.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Institut de Ci\u00e8ncia de Materials de Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC)<\/strong><\/a> and Dra. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iqac.csic.es\/research\/departments\/surfactants-and-nanobiotechnology\/multivalent-systems-for-nanomedicine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miriam Royo<\/a><\/strong> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iqac.csic.es\/research\/departments\/surfactants-and-nanobiotechnology\/multivalent-systems-for-nanomedicine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Multivalent System for Nanomedicine group (MS4N)<\/strong><\/a>, of the <strong>Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC<\/strong>). Both groups are part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csic.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ciber-bbn.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica en Red de Bioingenier\u00eda, Biomateriales y Nanomedicina (CIBER-BBN)<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Smart-4-Fabry has been conceived and created to obtain a new nanoformulation of GLA, that will improve the efficacy and toleration compared to the actual treatment with non-formulated GLA. The final benefit will be seen as considerable reduction on the Fabry disease treatment cost and a substantial improvement in the life-quality of Fabry disease patients.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/smart4fabry.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Smart-4-Fabry<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will impact on a major health problem, the existence of new therapies for rare diseases, which constitutes a priority societal challenge as shown in the\u00a0<strong>H2020 Work Programmes<\/strong>.\u00a0Rare diseases, like Fabry disease, mean a major health problem for a significant number of people in total, but affecting small number of patients for each individual disease.<\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/smart4fabry.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>workshop<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will take place on\u00a0<strong>3rd February<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0<strong>14:00h<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Join the Smart4Fabry Final Workshop to learn from expert speakers how, why and for what the solution proposed by\u00a0<strong>Smart4Fabry<\/strong>\u00a0was conceived, a sign of cooperation at European level to boost nanomedicine development and translation to clinical stages.<\/p>\n<p>See you there!<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/smart4fabry.cientifis.com\/\">Registration form<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>IQAC-CSIC Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Smart4Fabry\u00a0is the acronym of a H2020 funded Project that stands for &#8220;Smart functional GLA-nanoformulation for Fabry disease&#8221;.
