{"id":7823,"date":"2022-02-18T13:46:26","date_gmt":"2022-02-18T12:46:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iqac.csic.es\/i-interdisciplinary-workshop-on-biology-biomedicine-and-chemistry\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T11:11:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T09:11:15","slug":"i-interdisciplinary-workshop-on-biology-biomedicine-and-chemistry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iqac.csic.es\/en\/i-interdisciplinary-workshop-on-biology-biomedicine-and-chemistry\/","title":{"rendered":"I Interdisciplinary Workshop on Biology, Biomedicine and Chemistry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 3rd February, the<strong> I Interdisciplinary Workshop on Biology, Biomedicine and Chemistry<\/strong> was held, organized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibmb.csic.es\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Molecular Biology Institute of Barcelona<\/strong><\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iibb.csic.es\/ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Institute of Biomedical Research of Barcelona<\/strong> <\/a>and the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iqac.csic.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <strong>Institute of Advaced Chemistry of Catalonia<\/strong><\/a>, with the aim of fostering new ideas and collaborative projects in these three research fields.<\/p>\n<p>The Workshop was open by <strong>Jes\u00fas Marco<\/strong> (VICYT CSIC) and the directors of each center: <strong>Jes\u00fas Joglar<\/strong> (IQAC), <strong>Nuria Verdaguer<\/strong> (IBMB), and<strong> Roser Cort\u00e9s<\/strong> (IIBB) and it had 13 talks on these areas that have so much potential together, and another two collaboration that are being carried out between IIBB and IBMB, and between IBMB and IQAC.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, three videos were projected to let know the facilities servicies that each center offers.<\/p>\n<p>The event was dedicated to the memory of <strong>Dr. Antonio Delgado<\/strong>, Professor of Organic Chemistry in University of Barcelona and researcher of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iqac.csic.es\/research\/departments\/biological-chemistry\/research-unit-on-bioactive-molecules\/\"><strong>RUBAM<\/strong><\/a>, from IQAC, where he carried out all his research work.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop was closed by the CSIC delegate in Catalonia, <strong>Llu\u00eds Calvo<\/strong>, who concluded the event announcing the <strong>BBQ-CSIC grants<\/strong> (grants for the interdisciplinary research), for future collaborations between the institutes.
