{"id":7905,"date":"2023-09-15T09:32:14","date_gmt":"2023-09-15T07:32:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iqac.csic.es\/iqac-organises-the-first-conference-on-infectious-diseases\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T11:11:19","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T09:11:19","slug":"iqac-organises-the-first-conference-on-infectious-diseases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iqac.csic.es\/en\/iqac-organises-the-first-conference-on-infectious-diseases\/","title":{"rendered":"IQAC organises the first conference on infectious diseases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iqac.csic.es\/research\/departments\/surfactants-and-nanobiotechnology\/nanobiotecnology-for-diagnostics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Nanobiotechnology for Diagnostics <\/strong><strong>group<\/strong><\/a> (Nb4D) from Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uah.es\/es\/investigacion\/unidades-de-investigacion\/grupos-de-investigacion\/Grupo-de-Bioanalisis-y-Biosensores-Bioanalysis-and-Biosensors-Group.\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Bioanalytics and Biosensing group<\/strong><\/a> from University of Alcal\u00e1 de Henares (BBG-UAH) celebrated on 13<sup>th<\/sup> September the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Communication Day \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iqac.csic.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Agenda_13092023-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Combatiendo las Enfermedades Infecciosas desde el Diagn\u00f3stico y la Terapia<\/a>\u201d (Facing Infectious Diseases through Diagnostics and Therapy) in the framework of the Targeting-QS project (PID2021-126257OB-C21\/PID2021-126257OB-C22), funded by Spanish State Research Agency. This project is aimed at understanding the bacterial communication mechanisms and developing more efficient diagnostic and therapeutic tools based on that, always bearing in mind the fight against the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) threat.<\/p>\n<p>This event was intended to gather representatives of some of the stakeholders implied in the Infectious Diseases research line of the Nb4D group that have supported their project proposals and backed their investigation. Thus, people from patients\u2019 associations (<a href=\"https:\/\/alfa1.org.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Alfa-1 Espa\u00f1a<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/fibrosiquistica.org\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Associaci\u00f3 Catalana de Fibrosi Qu\u00edstica<\/strong><\/a>) and the industrial sector (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldstandarddiagnostics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Gold Standard Diagnostics<\/strong><\/a>) attended this small workshop. We also counted on the participation of <strong>Isabel Masip<\/strong>, from the Tech Transfer area of CSIC.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The day started with an introduction of the Project Leader, <strong>M.-Pilar Marco<\/strong>, presenting the principal points of the research line, and was followed by short presentations in which each researcher (PhD students <strong>Carla Ferrero<\/strong> and <strong>Juan Raya<\/strong> and consolidated researchers <strong>Pablo Salvador<\/strong>, <strong>Llu\u00efsa Vilaplana<\/strong> and <strong>Arantza Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>) explained their main advances and outcomes.
