Technical Staff

Cristina graduated in Chemistry (2000) and obtained her PhD (2010) from the University of Barcelona (UB), focusing her research on percutaneous absorption and the evaluation of the antioxidant activity of natural compounds.

Since 2003, she has been working in the Cosmetics and Textile Innovation group at IQAC-CSIC. She is a specialist in percutaneous absorption evaluation techniques (in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo IVPT), in vitro release tests (IVRT), and antioxidant capacity evaluation.

She is familiar with international permeation testing guidelines (OECD, SUPAC-SS, EFTA, SCCS, EMA) and acts as study director for tests under GLP regulations, with ISO9001:2008 and GLP 055CAT certifications.

Her research areas include:

In vitro skin permeation of active ingredients (drugs, cosmetics, and biocides)
Absorption tests on damaged skin
IVRT studies and dermatopharmacokinetic studies
