Biophysiscs of Lipids and Interphases

Our research is focused on advancing scientific knowledge in the fields of biophysics, biochemistry, physicochemistry, and technology of biological membranes and complex tissues.

The group’s projects primarily explore nanostructured systems composed of lipids and other amphipathic molecules—such as liposomes, micelles, bicelles, bicosomes, gels, and other supramolecular structures—with a strong focus on their biomedical applications. In parallel, the group investigates the structural and functional properties of biological substrates, including skin and mucosal tissues, with the aim of developing innovative therapeutic strategies. By integrating biomimetic and nanotechnological approaches, the team seeks to design alternative delivery systems capable of improving the efficacy and biocompatibility of treatments.
