Aina Millan Sanchez

Predoctoral researcher

I am a dedicated and curious scientist, with a strong academic background in Biology and a Master’s degree in Regenerative Medicine. I am currently pursuing my PhD at IQAC-CSIC, where my research focuses on the preclinical development of an innovative nanostructured delivery system based on acylceramides for the treatment of ichthyosis, a group of rare genetic skin diseases. In parallel, I study the lipid composition of the skin surface of people with ichthyosis to identify key differences compared with healthy skin. These insights could reveal new therapeutic targets and guide the design of more effective and personalised treatments.

SeleCStem aims to target the cancer stem cells responsible for therapy resistance and relapse. It will harness ALDH activity to deliver drugs selectively and inhibit tumours using light.
