A series of photoswitchable vitamin D receptor (VDR) agonist ligands are dynamically used to study the fundamental molecular mechanisms of receptor activation and its impact on biological responses.
We are developing an innovative photopharmacological strategy to deliver drugs to the hearts of patients with acute myocardial infarction and activate them precisely with light. The main objective is to reduce infarct size, minimising its long-term consequences beyond current conventional therapies.
OncoLight proposes the design, synthesis and biological study of light-sensitive molecules that can be used to eliminate bladder cancer cells with high precision under external light control.
Current glaucoma treatments present significant limitations due to side effects, low efficacy, and poor patient adherence. Within the framework of GLAUxIS, we are developing visible light-activated drugs that allow for precise, safe, and localized control of intraocular pressure.
Current treatments for chronic and acute pain, such as opioids, act systemically and often cause severe side effects. Within the framework of this project, we are exploring the use of light-activatable drugs to achieve more precise, localized, and safer pain control.
